 In September 2008, the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) identified four national expansion sites, all of which have a strong CNCS grantee presence and lead agency affiliates. These sites; Chicago, Boston, Denver, and the Triad region of North Carolina, will receive additional technical assistance and media support from the Corporation.
A steering team of individuals from across the Triad, CNCS staff and grantees, and representatives from the North Carolina Commission on Volunteers and Community Service have established four goals for the Triad expansion site:
2. Identify and connect existing MLK Day of Service efforts. 3. Encourage MLK Day non-service events to include a service component. 4. Develop new projects and partnerships.
