Register Your Project

 

If you plan on hosting an MLK service project for January 18, 2010 as part of the Triad Region effort, we ask that you please register your project on one of the following sites: 

1. www.1-800-volunteer.org : This website is associated with Nonprofit Volunteer Connections of Winston-Salem and The Volunteer Center of Greensboro, Inc.

To register your project directly with The Volunteer Center of Greensboro, please go to:
http://www.1-800-volunteer.org/1800Vol/Volunteer_Center_of_Greensboro/OpenCreateAccountAction.do. (Be sure to put "MLK" in the title of your project.)

Please call Chelsea Hughes at 336.373.1633 for more information on registering through the Volunteer Center. Funding to assist with projects is available through the Volunteer Center of Greensboro.

To register your project with Nonprofit Volunteer Connections of Winston-Salem, go to: www.volunteer-connections.org.


2. www.mlkday.gov: This is the MLK Day of Service website hosted by the Corporation for National & Community Service.

Follow the instructions below to register your project on www.mlkday.gov:

1. Go to http://my.mlkday.gov/public/NewCoordinatorAccount.aspx?oid=3151. This link will allow you to register your location under the Triad NC expansion site. 

2. Enter info for your volunteer site/organization. Choose MLK Day as the option under "branding."

3. Once you've received a confirmation email, login to http://my.mlkday.gov using your name & password.

4. Once logged in, go to Projects/Locations and then click on Opportunities next to your organization's name. Choose Create New Opportunity to register a specific project.

5. You will be asked to provide detailed info about your project, including time frame, tasks required of volunteers, and whether you will be accepting volunteers via the MLK Day website.
